Since 2016, the world has feverishly watched America and how heavily the country has changed; creating further inner conflict. America has become the world's case study of a country on the brink of collapsing due to corrupt officials possibly dismantling democracy.
This extremely close election has finally come to a halt, on November 6th Trump won by a slim margin of three million votes. This victory makes him the first convicted felon to be a president.
But what does this mean for the future of America?
Trump has change expediently since his 2020 loss. Many are familiar with Trump's 2016 ramblings of his 'Great Wall' that was promised to forever change the future of America's Southern borders; yet his goals never came to fruition. It seemed that many of his fruitful goals quickly became unrealistic; Trump's first presidency was built on his unique entry into politics, never his actual policies. The 'Buisness Man' approach similarly to Mitt Romney's promptly collapsed.
Since 2020, his administration has built an extensive and bleak plan for their vision for America - Project 2025. This nine hundred page scheme desperately is in need to be closely observed as it may threaten the livelihood of millions. This document skewed in Christian nationalism has an aim to affect America permanently.
The biggest goal for Trump and his administration is to ban abortion nation wide. Trump made considerable progress when he allowed three congressmen to be oppointed within the Supreme Court when he made a substanstale rule change that allowed judges to be appointed by a majority vote only. Abortion bans wil be achieved as Trump aims to move abortion as a ‘state issue’ - meaning that it’s up to state officials to deal with the legislations surrounding abortion, the government never being able to step in. As 30 states turned red for Trump, this is an alarming issue for many. This election year included the senate becoming a red majority at 53 seats - meaning that even 'classic blue states' are at threat of having harsher abortion changes, due to many loyal Republican senates always voting red on state issues.
Additionally, Trump is on track to bury the progress Biden made towards the global warming. In four years alone Biden has funded the most towards climate change than any other president in history. Yet, Republican’s refute the belief of climate change being real. Trump has an incentive to support his move into a more developed oil industry, as many of his donors have investments within said industry. Trump is projected to pull out of the Paris Environmental Agreement yet again; and pull back on Biden's investments into renewable energy. Much of this investment being very successful within California. However, Trump's possible clamp down on said investment could stunt California's entire renewable economy; and with California's Governor Gavin Newsom feeling passionate to always defend his state, he is deemed to fight back on this proposed change. Trump is likely to fulfill his pledge on continuing to search for new depoits and as he famously said dig, dig, dig!
The leading reason for voting in the 2024 election was economy. Trump's unorthodox approach in handling the pandemic alongside increasing inflation depleted America's economy. Biden was handed with the hefty task at recovering this damage to the economy, and Biden has admitted there is far more work to be done. The truth is in the numbers as job grew by over 6.6million throughout his presidency whereas Trump lost 2.7 million jobs. Trump did have to handle the pandemic alongside the economy. However, it's important to note that since World War II America's economy has grown far better under Democratic presidents than Republicans. It seems that differing policies won't alter that Democratic policies will always better serve the economy. But many voters have failed to educate themselves on what Trump meant by tariffs. The search ‘What is a tariff?’ shot up just weeks after Trump won this election. With 16 Noble-prize winning economists disprove his economic policies; projecting that his plans will sink this economy even further.
Trump's plan to punish China through expensive tariffs is nonsensical, as China has outwardly refused to pay any tariffs they've been desegnated. Therefore, these extra costs fall back onto companies who will increase prices as a result to match their previous profit margins. These increased prices will stunt middle-class people ability to grow within the economy. This suppression of the middle-class will only be cultured further as Trump moves towards tax cuts for the upper-class.
Trump's seismic change in his polices and plans for the future of America, will greatly deepen the pre-exsisting systemic issues within America. Americans unwelcoming of this change, are voicing their decision to migrate once Trump is inaugurate in January. Those who don't have as much economic freedom are fearful of how Trump's admisntartion will restrain one's freedom to live to their accord. Project 2025 is ignorant to accepting anyone that doesn't fit into America's prestige, conservative and traditional values. Those who fail to conform due to Project 2025's rules, will be chastise and further ostracised; made into an example of what happens to those who fail to submit under Republican rule. The future of America will be the world's case study on the aftermath of fascisism corrupting democracy.
